e-mail billing

Four years ago I moved to an area where Verizon doesn't provide Hi Speed Internet access and I ended up paying for a dial-up account back then to keep my e-mail. Sporadically the billing for this account has gone awry and my e-mail gets shut off. Recently I was told to register for domain services to get my e-mail for $20/yr instead of $20/mo.

Sadly, it isn't that simple. Everything goes back to "Call this number: 1-866-423-2520: which is an automated system that directs me to www.keepmyemail.com where selecting dial-up tells me: "We are sorry. Verizon Your Domain is not available with dial-up service."

Has anyone found a way to convince Verizon to allow us orphans back in the house??
