Routinely at public hot spots I receive this error - nothing has changed in the account set up, but for some reason the client "cannot connect to your incoming (POP 3) email server." That server is "Pop.verizon.net" and has remained that for a very long time. I'm posting this to communicate with Verizon. The problem does not affect the other two (microsoft.com and phada.org) domain incoming servers I use, and so I'm presuming its on Verzon's end. I'm not looking for a "solution" since I'm usually not on connections that produce this error, but don't see any excuse for this ever happening.

Make sure you are using port 995 and ssl for the pop server. And look to see if you can increase the timeout value.

Thanks. Check and check. I've increased the timeout from 2 mins 50 secs to 4 mins 40 secs. We'll see.
