mail rejection as exceeding databyte limit

I've been trying to send messages on my verizon.net accout and I keep getting the following "rejection" message.  At first my email message had attachments that added up to over 4MB.  I subsequently reduced the message size to less that 1MB per message, but still get the same "rejection" message.  Is there a limit on the size that you can send.  I haven't (successfully) sent any other messages except for one earlier of about 1.5 MB

Your message cannot be delivered to the following recipients:

Dear newknee67,

I apologize for the inconvenience.

We have a 4-6 Mb size limit for outgoing emails. However, this size takes into account the size of the email body, attachments and email headers.

Would you be able to attach/include the error message you saw? It will certainly help us understand the issue better and address it as quickly as possible.

Thank you
