Change in signal strength

In the past few weeks, I have experienced such a change in signal strength that I cannot use my phone in my home. I cannot make or receive calls or texts reliably, although using my household wifi I can use data. Checking the coverage maps indicates I should have the same service I always had. And my phone works fine in other locations. I don't know if something has changed in my environment, but this is leading me to seriously consider changing carriers immediately.
