Leave one family plan to start a new family plan?

I am currently on a family plan with 6 members of my immediate family; however I'd like to create a new family plan that my wife could be on.  However, if I start a new plan it will cost more for only 2 members to be on a family plan versus the 6 that are on my current plan.  Would my current rate carry over to a new family plan or would the rate be increased because only 2 individuals are on the plan?  Trying to simplify things but not wanting to pay more to break off of my current family plan. Thanks
