We are under contract on a house sits on border of the Fayette and Coweta County line, (cities of Peachtree City and Sharpsburg) approximately 3 miles north of Highway of GA Highway 34. We have lived in Sharpsburg for 28 years and have been Verizon customers since 2000 and have never had a reception issue with Verizon. We have a Galaxy Note, Galaxy 4 and 2 I Phone's in use and none of them have reliable signal reception at this new address, which is only a 2 minute drive from our outgoing house. Basically, one corner of the living room and the driveway in front of the garage door are the only places we can keep a signal that allows us to use our phones.
I contacted Verizon 2 days asked for an inquiry as to what could be done. Less than 24 hours later, a Verizon rep from New Mexico called to inform me that it was a dead zone in their coverage and they had no intention of modifying or improving the signal strength in that area. They offered a home signal booster for an extra charge to boost their weak signal, but explained that it would only help the signal within the house, not if I was outside.
Hmm, I just renewed my contract 2 weeks ago ( 2 days before going under contract on this house) and the service is basically useless to me when we move to that house. The neighbors also confirm that Verizon coverage is spotty at best and have switched to T mobile. My on call job requires my to be contactable 24 hours/day so I need reliable service inside and outside When I asked whether they would let me terminate the recently renewed contract because my phone was essentially useless, they said I would be subject to all the termination fines.
So much for Verizon's superior coverage.
