Thank you all for your responses. It is greatly appreciated.

@bretondog,

3G Mobile Hotspot customers will also receive the benefits of Wireless Data Roaming while in Canada. In addition to your domestic Mobile Hotspot feature you can add a $30.00 Global plan which will allow 75MB for your mobile Hotspot while in Canada or a $100.00 plan for 200MB. Or you can also go pay as you go and billed $2.05 per MB used.

You can sue it if you want, but I doubt you will win.

[First, I found jimfitzgerald's reply very funny, so I might be unreliable]

I don't know the rules about using the "official" app in Canada, but if it possible it will be very expensive.   If you have performed some devlce  changes, then it is certainly possible, but will still be very expensive!  Basically, either way you will be connecting to  cellular data (and converting it to a Wifi signal)

Verizon Wireless offers two data packages in Canada:

75 MB for $30/ month
200 MB for $100/month

with overages at $2.05 per MB.

These can be prorated by the day, but the MB are also prorated.  75MB really isn't a lot, especially if you are using it as a hotspot.

And neither is 200 MB per month.

Bretondog, thanks for your inquiry. Silver posted the correct prices for the Canada data plans. These plans will give you access to use the phone in Canada. In addition, you will still require the $20 tethering package in order to use the hotspot.
