On a Verizon Family plan, thinking of splitting off

I wish this was a more current conversation. I am currently on Verizon Family plan and am considering leaving Verizon and going with either Boost or Virgin. I want a data plan and I believe Verizon is too expensive. I realize Verizon might have better coverage, but is it really worth the extra money?

I think only you can determine the answer for your question. For me, it is worth it. I have unlimited data on the phone and unlimited hotspot and I have only been to one place where data is iffy at best. It will have bursts of 3G coverage, then drop as I am bounced from tower to tower in the area and VZW says the signal stinks there, but yet I have a signal in the mid-80's.

But I go there rarely. Everywhere else, including the UP of MI I have coverage.
