Can I switch between the Droid 3 and iPhone 4 without loosing my unlimited data plan? Does switching phones change the plan at all?

No. The only time it will not is when you are going to a basic phone and you are past 14 days of the change.

It will stay for the time being.

If you switched to say like a Gusto(Basic Phone) then you would lose it.  As long as you are moving from a smartphone to another smartphone you will retain your data plan.
