Texts from Verizon Every 15 Minutes While on Global Plan

Can't contact Verizon on problem with Global Plan via email?  It's 3:25PM PDST and no one available via Chat.  It costs $0.99/minute to call 800 # and wait on line, so I don't want to go that route.  Why am I getting Verizon texts that read "VZWNMN:1" every 15 minutes since I arrived in Germany 2 days ago?
