We just purchased a new galaxy 5 watch through Verizon. It has its own line and should be able to be used without Bluetooth. The watch displays "emergency calls only" and will not call or text out or receive calls/texts. I went into the store and they were finally able to get it connected to Verizon, but I just got home and it's back to "emergency calls only". Our Verizon phones work at home, I know we have service here. How can I solve this?

Good afternoon, AmyBue. I'm sorry the Watch is not working as it should be.
When you were in the store, did it connect to Bluetooth at all? Is the Watch connected to WiFi? Did the store advise what the issue was?

I purchased a Galaxy watch 5 LTE from Verizon yesterday and they activated it in the store. Once I got home and set it all up I was ready to try. Made two phone calls from my watch without my phone on and within 5-8 minutes into the call the Galaxy Watch 5 says Cooling down and that some apps may slow down. At this time it disconnects the call and goes into airplane mode. You can see the airplane mode symbol and emergency call only each time this happens.
Two phone calls later (today) from my watch resulted in the same outcome. Search Galaxy Watch 5 overheating on Google and you will see that many people are having the same problem.
I went to return my watch today less then 1 day later telling them why and showing them documentation about this this known problem. They made me pay to 50.00 restocking fee (which I was no pleased about) as it was a watch that couldn't make phone calls for me. It may work for some people, but my experience is that this watch shouldn't be sold with all the warnings out about it on the internet.
Purchase at your own risk and let me know if you find a solution for this overheating problem.
