I spent 3 hours today trying to activate the above mentioned watch on Verizon as a stand-alone replacement to my Galaxy watch 5 with the stand alone phone number. The Rep removed my watch 5 and then informed me that a Galaxy watch 6 lte can only be activated as a number share even though Samsung advertises it as a stand alone. A Samsung Rep stated “ that is not the case at all. A watch 6 can be activated as stand alone”. Meanwhile my watch 5 that was removed by Verizon and cannot be reactivated as a stand alone by Verizon either. Interestingly Verizon’s own website has Instructions on how to set up a Galaxy watch as stand-alone.
Meanwhile do to a Rep I have lost my stand-alone ability and I spent money on a watch that Verizon will not activate correctly. Someone one is being dishonest here about stand-alone ability with smartwatches and I will be forwarding a complaint to both the FCC and my State Attorney General. I have been with Verizon 20+ years and had the same stand alone number for over 15 yrs on smartwatch’s, I don’t understand why Verizon will not activate this watch as a stand-alone when their site says they will.
