Issue when charging Lumia 735

When I want to recharge the phone, I power it down and then plug in the charger. The phone then powers itself up, and I don't want that to happen. How can I change this?

I can see where this would take some time to get use to. It appears this is a feature built in to the Windows OS. What concerns do you have with the phone being on when charging?

I don't leave my phone on at night to avoid hearing the sounds associated with Facebook, incoming emails, calendar reminders, etc. Is there any way to set the phone to stay off until I manually turn it on?

Just mute the phone and turn it face down, Works every time for me.

If you have Cortona enabled, enable Quite Hours:

1. Go to Cortona
2. Tap on the hamburger menu
3. Tap on Notebook
4. Tap on Quite Hours and set it up

Quiet hours works for me! I was able to allow people I specify to be able to call in during quiet hours, but no one else will.. I'll try charging the phone tonight and we'll see how well this works.
