Issue with Sound Settings on Keocerya Cadence Cell Phone

I am legally blind and my Cadence phone suddenly has turned off the ringtone, the symbol appears with a slash through the bell on the upper portion of the display area.I am able to call out on the phone and get incoming calls and messages, but the phone does not ring! When I do what Verizon says and go to settings and then  to master volume all I get is a screen showing the bell with a slash through it and then row of boxes and beneath it  the words all sound off.  There is no way to turn this on or off.  In addition, when I attempt to place a call using he vice call system there is no verbal prompt or response. It will make the call if I speak loudly and say the name, but the phone gives me no verbal response like it always has in the past.   Hope some of this makes sense.  My vision compounds the problems and I am at loss to solve it.  Please help if you can.

Have you tried turning the ringer back on by pressing the volume up key repeatedly?

Thank you so much, there was no arrow down or up, but I did keep clicking the side switch on the phone and then it was having everything readout, then went in and turned off the readout function and all now seems to be normal. My model had no minus or plus and I was apparently unable to see up or down function on side of the phone just kept clicking what I now determine is the up volume which restored the ring function. My simple mind combined with minimal vision made it virtually impossible to see the up or down indentation. Your help was a real blessing to this crusty curmudgeon..have a great weekend my friend..
