LG Cosmos sends all incoming calls directly to VM and when I attempt an outgoing call I get a recording telling me I need to use a credit card. Help!

I got my Mom an LG Cosmos because she wanted to be able to text, but didn't want a smartphone. It has worked fine since the first of November until today. As of today, all incoming calls go directly to VM and when she tries to make an outgoing call a recording tells her she needs to use a credit card even though the call is local. She's in Florida and I'm in Arizona and have no idea how to help her.

Hi ladyrxr,
It's very important to keep in touch with your family, especially when you are not in the same state. Let's see what we can do for your mom. Do you know if she was performing a certain task or changing any of the settings on the device before this happened? One thing she can try is powering the phone off/on and dial *228 and press option 1. Then, she would just wait for a successful recording and then try it again.
We may need to speak with her. Is she able to contact us in this forum? For starters, let's try these steps and we can go from there.
