Why is it I can not transfer pictures from my LG Octane to my Mac via usb? It works via bluetooth but its sort of a pain.
Are there drivers Im missing?
On page 95 of the manual, under the USB Mass Storage instructions, it says the Mac OS is not supported.

Be glad you got bluetooth to work .... I haven't heard of many that have been successful with bluetooth! And if you have an SD card, you can save pix to the card, and then use a card reader in your computer to transfer the pix to the computer.
HTH,
That stinks that it doesn't support Macs. The fellow who sold the phone to us didn't know that. We bought it partly because we thought we'd be able to get the photos off the phone and onto our Mac.
I just moved from an I phone to a LG Octane. So you are telling me I can't transfer my pictures to my Mac and I can't transfer my I tunes to my Octane???

I don't think phones other than the iPhone support the iTunes file type. And if the manual says Mac OS is not supported with the LG Octane, you will not be able to use a USB cable to connect the two. Like the other poster said, they got Bluetooth to work, you could try doing that.

There's no harm in trying.
We have a basic phone [VX8700] made by LG that is a few years old; it'll play only mp3 and wmv music files.
In contrast, another basic phone [Clout VX8370] made by LG that we own that was launched last summer will play mp3, wmv, AAC [iTunes] and AAC+ music files. However, while we have album art embedded in all those file types, the Clout would display the album art only in the mp3 and wmv files.
You could also use a memory card and memory card reader to transfer the music files to your Octane if neither Bluetooth nor USB cable works out for you.
How do you transfer the pics via bluetooth to a mac?

Turn bluetooth on for both the phone and the mac, and then wait until they "find" each other, either on your phone or on your mac.
I would like to thank the members of the community for your assistance. I would just like to add some other information that might help you transfer your pictures. Please remember that you can find solutions to some of your questions by checking with your owners manual. The owners manuals for all of the phones that we offer can be found on our My Verizon web sight. I have provided a link below to the owners manual portion of our web sight.

Hi SuzyQ,
This is my first post, so I'm not sure how this works. I have an LG Octane and I've taken a few pictures that I'm trying to transfer to my PC using a USB cable. It's not working and I don't what to do. I've tried looking in the User Guide to see what I'm missing but I'm not finding the answer. Can you help?
Thanks in advance.

SuzyQ, - Thank you - Thank you - Thank you. . . for the info and the fast response. No SD card. I didn't even know about the SD card although I do see a MicroSD card slot.
I really need to get these photos onto my computer. I'll try the SD card and let you know how it turns out.
I plugged my phone's memory chip into my PC's port, went to My Computer and opened the chip and opened the Pictures folder (create one if it isn't already there) Then I opened My Pictures in the PC and dragged and dropped the pictures I wanted to the chip. Then I reinstalled the chip in the phone and transferred the pictures to the phone's internal memory. They now reside in My Pictures in the phone.
It worked for me on a MacbookPro.
plug in usb.
go to tools, usb mass storage
drives will mount to mac desktop.
for some reason, the first time i did it the drives timed out and unmounted.
the second time, i did it, the drives mounted and VIOLA, i could navigate all the photos, videos etc...

I had Bluetooth runnng in 2 minutes, after I found the manual for my Toyota Camry. On the LG Octane, it's Menu, Settings & Tools, Bluetooth Menu, Add New Device, then hold your LG Octane near your car's dashboard after going through the car manual's "Pair Device" steps, and press OK on your phone. Doesn't work? Offer a teenager $10 to do it for you - it's a one-time charge. lol
I just got this phone and want to upload the pics on my sd card to the phone. Can anyone tell me how to do this?
Thanks!
Tammy
Have transferred pics many times from this device to computer with WIndows 7 & using USB cable. I choose "Open folder to view files" then drag files to another window with directory on computer, but suddenly it doesn't work? When I go to synched folder with pics and click on a pic & try to drag the animated "processing" icon appears and I immediately get "not responding" at the top of the window?
I have rebooted a number of times and still am not able to even select and view a file? I can view with no problems on the phone? Not sure if this is a device problem or something related to Windows 7? Anyone else have this problem?
works on my imac, but you have to hook it up to a pc first, then run the file bootstrap.exe that shows up on yer phone..
then it works by selecting it as mass storage, on yer mac. in settings on yer phone.. it is glitchy at times... and at the moment for music, my songs are skipping..? but pics work back and forth......
