Unable to start application for Mobile E-Mail on LG Extravert 2

I'm the IT Manager of the company I work for and am trying to resolve a problem with one of the company phones. We have been using a LG Extravert2 with the Mobile E-Mail application successfully for the last two months on two different phones. Today, we tried to send a E-Mail using the Mobile E-Mail application one one of the phones and instead of the application opening I get the error message "Unable to start application".
I've tried most of the obvious, turning off the phone, removing the battery, etc. The only thing that I have not tried is uninstalling the application. I no longer see the application offered in the add applications list so I'm not sure if the application is available. Searching some of the forums I see messages indicating is not longer available.
All the other functions on the phone are working correctly and the second phone so I don't think I have a problem with the hardware. Also the second phone, which was set up at the same time to use the same account still sends E-Mail and functions normally so I don't think any licensing has expired.
Any help would be appreciated.

I took the phone to the local Verizon store and they did a complete reset
which resorted the application and the phone is now working again.
In resetting up Mobile E-Mail I had some difficulty until I reviewed the
notes I made when I originally set up the phones. There are two issues with
the Mobile Email which from previous research I had to overcome. 1. POP3
TCP port number was not the standard 110. 2. In order to change the port
number I had to slide the phone shut and use the on screen keyboard.
Mobile E-Mail is not listed anywhere in the Apps for this phone. I tried
all options before taking it to the Verizon store.
We selected a LG Extravert as we thought it would be simpler to use but are
reconsidering that decision for future phone purchases. We're going to
stick with the Android or IPhones.

KenHx, I want to make sure we're able to get your email application working again. What is the email domain that you are using (hotmail, Gmail, etc)? Please check if you are using the latest version by going to Media Center>Browse & Download>Get New App>Productivity/Utilities> Scroll to "Mobile Email- Latest Edition" or Mobile "E-mail" and download the new application.
