Why Is My Phone Not Activating After I Changed My Number?

I changed my phone number on my Verizon account, my issue is that my same phone is not taking the new number. I am unable to make and receive calls and text. When I dial *611 it is ALWAYS busy. Please help. Thank you. I have a basic flip phone.

Turn the phone off, then back on again. Then dial *228, choose option 1. It needs to be reactivated with the new number. It may ask the number when you call *228, and you'll enter the new 10 digit number.
