Why is VZW dragging their feet on the update???? Every other carrier with windows phones has pushed the update down. I'm seriously considering going to AT&T if someone from VZW doesn't respond to this thread...

Read the numerous other thread about this very subject.
You might as well go to AT&T now. VZW won't respond to this other than telling you to subscribe to their newsletter emails so you get the latest news from VZW.
From Microsoft, we should see it in the coming weeks.

So sad. I have been really pleased with VZW coverage. AT&T not so much...

Coverage maps are pretty much wrong but I came to Verizon when they purchased a smaller company that had GREAT coverage in the area I live in. AT&T has just as good in our area so other than the contract keeping me with Verizon I will switch when it ends.

jharris326,
We don’t want to lose you as our customer! Look at all the reasons to choose Verizon Wireless: http://vz.to/13N0B6O . What has you considering a switch? What can we do to keep you on the best network?

Holy cow, did you really just ask that question?
Are you kidding? Or are you being sarcastic?
Because you really can not be serious.

This post is the kind of inane drivel we should expect?
Come on BrianP_VZW ... surely you can do better than that.
Or is that a canned response because you really didn't read the OP post?
Have no concern whatsoever for the question asked, or seriously could care less?
Maybe it's time I thought about leaving. Inane posts like that sure do not convey confidence.
I was with VZW for a long time, and I left cause of the Data Rate changes and went to Sprint
Found out how Sprint couldn't care less for the Windows Phones and came back because I thought
Wow, VZW is pushing updates and top of the Line WP's.
I should have known better.
Well, You have some time to convince me. Enjoy my payments while you can
You might just have one less coming your way.
And no, I am no longer advising anyone to come to Verizon.
I steer them to ATT, cause obviously they care about getting updates out to their customers.

Amen, I tell people to go to AT&T since Verizon could care less about the customer. Too bad AT&T is not offering to buy out contracts anymore. THEIR sales people were just having a ball pointing out that a lot of Verizon Windows phone customers come visit them looking to switch! They even have Windows 8.1 Nokia phones on display. AT&T also had rate plans CHEAPER than Verizon IF you own your own phone and bring it to them. THEY have information that they direct you to of how to move your Verizon phone over to the AT&T network once your contract ends and you get the phone unlocked!

Brian you want to get people to stay then release the Cyan firmware and Windows 8.1 update! Start giving us answers instead of passing us worthless signup forms for your trash news letter that just takes space and gives us nothing. Stop hiding behind a couple of people that keep defending Verizon and talk to us. Right now I see you doing nothing, noda, zip. WHY would I stay with a company that puts making money ahead of customer service? AT&T released the Cyan firmware and Windows 8.1 update about 30 days ago for the LAST of their Windows phones. Verizon has not released it to even ONE phone. You talk to 5 Verizon CS people and you get 5 different answers from, there is no Cyan update to the Windows phone, to it will be out in a couple of days. Your sales staff direct customers away from Windows phones with all kind of BS. They don't want to sell you a Windows phone since they know you are holding up the updates. They also lie to customers saying if you buy the high end Windows phone the update will be out in a couple of days. THEY can't even get their stories straight. You push the iPhone 6 when we log into our accounts....even though THEY bend when NOT DESIGNED to. My bet is you will not even bother to answer this post!

I apologize for the delayed response to your posts jharris326! I understand your desire for the latest update to your phone and your disappointment with any discrepancies on why you have not received such update! Our goal is to provide updates as soon as possible; however, we cannot provide an update we don't have. We do not know when, or if any update will be available for any of our phones in the future regardless of other carriers software versions, but please be assured that we'll push all updates to our phones as soon as we have them ready.

AntonioC you obviously know less than most! Your company got the Cyan firmware the same day as AT&T. AT&T released that firmware to all of it's Windows Phone users about a month ago. YOU people like to say you are for customer service but in real life all you are for is our money using 2 year contracts to keep us "loyal". I will be so happy when our crappy contract is up and I can walk into your store and force you to unlock all of phones I paid for. I can then either sell them or use them on a competitor's network. Release the firmware and stop the B about not having it! It took posting how long between responses to even get you to even respond in the first place! What is wrong you scared a competitor will find the proof of Verizon's lack of Customer Service...They already know!

How can you not know????
your own website says that the windows update is in testing.
All we want to know is when it's going to come out.
If someone doesn't have a firm response, I'm going to AT&T. I don't want to, but I have really lost the warm fuzzies with VZW.

I have been reading about Verizon's inaction on the Cyan update for a couple weeks now and it looks like they're wanting to give AT&T a run for "worst customer service":
Given the utterly worthless nature of literally every Verizon reply I've read, someone at the big V needs to figure out that no response at all is far better than responses from people who are clearly beyond ignorant or who just blather out some "happy clappy" bull**** that means absolutely nothing and only serves to further infuriate their most vocal subscribers. I am sure that everyone who cares enough to post here is well-aware that actions speak louder than words. Until there is something of actual value to say, Verizon would serve itself best by shutting up.

they (Verizon) have the shutting up part down real well. and its been far longer than "a couple weeks". its been almost 3 MONTHS. the standard "good things are worth waiting for" messages are insulting. I WAS a loyal 4 line customer for many, many years but I am forced to reconsider my loyalty. All we are asking for is a general timeline, a week, a month, a year or never. That's ALL.

I meant that I have been READING about this for a couple of weeks, since I got the Icon.
Having read about it, yes, it is abundantly clear that this has been going on far longer than that.

Did you really just lie to your customers and say you don't have the Cyan update for Windows Phone? Microsoft turned it over to Verizon in July. Before you reply, you may want to do your homework or consult with a manager. People have been posting on your support site since the update was released in July asking for ANY sort of timetable that Verizon would be so kind as to pass along. The Windows Phone users are a dedicated bunch. Please do not insult us in this manner.

Antonio,
Per the following information - Verizon is testing Cyan update on your network.
Availability in North America - Nokia
Can you please give us a timeline for when the testing is scheduled to be completed?
Thank you.

The update was supposed to be released by mid-2014. It is getting into LATE 2014. I purchased the lumia ICON because it was supposed to be the latest and greatest... but it is behind the older Nokia phones. Please release the update!! Several carriers are now promising to buy out your contract to get your service. Seriously considering this if I dont receive the update this month!!! Verizon DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER!!!!! I would rather have a carrier with not as much coverage that cares... than one that has greater coverage and could care LESS!!!! I have defended Verizon over the years... but I am now suggesting to others to stay away from them if they ask me about my service. Several have already gone with another carrier because of what I have told them. This is a chance for Verizon to regain my faith in them, or I too will be gone!

provide timely updates for products. The lumia line is the "nexxus product for microsoft" why they can produce an update three or four months ago and you can't have it tested/ready/released for your customers is insane. I left android to this device, and I feel that I have made a 2 year mistake.
I may buy a new phone over this, but I also will be looking to a different carrier if I do.
