Try to switch my phone from an LG Cosmos 3 to and Alias 2 and the prepaid menu tells me I have to upgrade to a smartphone data
plan. I call into customer service which took me nearly an hour to get to because the menus are so complicated its bullshit. All for them to tell me that there is nothing they can do that I will just have to upgrade my plan. The Alias 2 is a basic phone. I am not satisfied with this shoddy customer service and the oh well what do you expect me to do attitude. Anyone else have the same or similar problem?
The Alias 2 is a multimedia phone. It's considered a basic phone if activating on a post-paid plan and does not require a data plan. However, it does require a data plan if activated on a pre-paid plan.
Hi thomas.tr2!
Sorry for any confusion about your Prepaid service. For clarification, please contact this department. Here are the steps to reach a representative:
-Call 888-294-6804
-When prompted, enter the prepaid phone number.
-Then press 4, 5, 4 and then enter your pass code for your account. If you do not know the pass code enter in four zeros. Then the system will transfer you to a Prepaid representative.
Thanks!

Tiki is correct. I personally experienced this a year ago.
