Blocking short code spam

I must be the most "lucky" person in the world, daily I receive a short code text letting me know I won anything from a

1000 walmart card or all expense trip.....my whole family must be lucky, since we all receive the same texts.  I've blocked

everything but basic/picture text yet nothing seems to help.  Is there anyway to get rid of them on non-smart phones?

Forward the texts to SPAM (7726); Verizon will send a reply text asking for the number that sent the spam text.  Once you reply, the texts should stop.

The exact same thing has been happening to me for the past couple weeks - I'm very lucky also. Mostly texts about winning stuff from best buy or target. I will forward to SPAM as suggested.
