Can I access old txt messages?

A very important one was deleted and i need to access it.

You would need to obtain a court order in order to obtain old text messages that were deleted from the phone.

Thanks for jumping in to answer, ttipgem!  I also wanted to add this bit of information in case someone else runs into this dilemma.
Text message content is maintained in Verizon message centers only for up to 10 days from receipt by VZW. Any requests to have the content retrieved must be requested by an attorney.
