Hi SickFreak,
I believe WP7 devices are great as well and I understand your (and all other community members) inquiry for information about the release of new WP7 devices. I also agree that a response (although not what you wish to hear) is better than no response at all.
Lamentably, we cannot provide you with any estimation of a new device release as we may set a wrong expectation. Please be assure that Verizon Wireless employees do not have any information about new WP7 device releases; therefore we are not able to guess when or if any new WP7 device will be released in the future. Please keep in mind that we will widely advertise any new WP7 device release once one is ready to be released.
Please note that the best place to get information about new devices and other Verizon Wireless products and services is Verizon Wireless News online.

I believe it is a corporate policy. They can't comment on upcoming phones unless they are Android, iPhone, WebOS, Symbian, Meego, or feature.

There is no reason in the world why Verizon can't say that they are seeking to add new WP7 phones in the near future. Don't have to be specific, just ensure us that it is happening.
I was in a tough spot because my daughter's phone was stolen/lost and we were both due for new phones. I tried to wait until Nokia World at least to hear some news of new Verizon WP7 phones, but my daughter going without a phone for that long was really difficult. But when the Verizon CEO predicted that WP7 will overtake BB and be a player in the market, that sure sounded like an endorsement that they will be all in or at least partially in. So she got a Trophy and loves it, but I want new specs and front facing camera. I don't want to be locked in for 2 years with the Trophy, when new cameras are rolling out now.
But now there's been no word, no assurance, nada. I'm ready to pay the $300.00 to break the new contract because of buying the Trophy and go get a Titan. I'm really despising Verizon right now. I will never buy another Android based phone again, once was enough for me.

IMHO VZW releasing the Trophy was to test the waters with WP7. They probably waiting for WP7 devices that have a LTE chipset before they get more phones. I posted an article that its speculated that VZW will announce a Nokia phone at CES in 2012. But now there is a lot of news that at&t is working with Nokia on a phone as well. If there is no announcement as CES from VZW it curtains for them
VZW can you hear your customers; you know the ones that gives you lots of money every month and provide you our usage data for free want more information on your WP7 roadmap. Every other carrier freely announces their plans and they are still in business.

primortal...if they are testing the waters, then they are failing miserably! I went into a thrid party Verzion store to look att he HTC Trophy. Not only did they not have a phone to touch, but had none in stock. They guy said I was the first ever customer to come in asking about the phone. He stated they where selling iPhones hand over fist. All the phones that where opperational where iPhones and Droids. Verizon looks really silly when it comes to this platform. All reports indicate that Mango and the OS are gaining a real following overseas and the other US carriers appear to see this as a strong viable consumer choice. Yet Verizon continues to suppress this platform. Verizon should be ashamed!

This is not how you market a product, it's how you market a competitor!

It's not just VZW that's the issue as far as neglecting WP, it's really all the carriers. Take 5 minutes and listen to how comical this call is. Recommending the iPhone as the best phone to send Office attachments? You can't make this stuff up.
It's no wonder Microsoft is having a hard time gaining traction in the marketplace with WP. Everyone is too busy gushing over any device that Apple makes rather than comparing actual features / upgradablibility / ease of use.

To be fair, their WP7 phone is actually quite good...
I can't view that link here but I'll check it out later, sounds facepalm-worthy.

I was at Sam's Club yesterday and was walking by the mobile phone counter when a couple of people stopped me and asked me for help (I guess I've got "Techie" written on my forehead....)
I walked them though the phones (Sprint, AT&T and Verizon), but there wasn't a single Windows 7 Phone on counter (there were about 40 other phones, including the very new DROID RAZR and Apple iPhone 4s.)
Why no Windows phones????
