We just bought this phone not 5 hours ago. My son has been messing around with it. All was working well, then all of a sudden he couldn't receive text messages. We went through the online troubleshooter for this particular phone and nothing was helping. Then he deleted all the text "threads" and it started working again and he was able to receive texts. Does he have to keep deleting texts to receive more? This phone has 16GB of memory, plus a SIM card. What gives?
We have multiple "threads" going with our Lumia 928, and rarely delete any messages. Were there other apps running at the time the text messages didn't go through? Hitting the Windows button does not close any open apps, you need to use the arrow key (bottom left) to actually close any open apps. Press and hold it to see what is open at any time.
We also have not had any issues with not receiving text messages - was this from one specific person, or were there many messages not received? How did he know he was not receiving the messages?
I hope you're enjoying this awesome new phone, tracey131. Issues with text messages should be pretty rare, and our friend SuzyQ had some fantastic questions and tips. Have you run into any more trouble with texting? Were the messages simply not coming through from one particular person? When you activated this great new phone, did you also port your number over from another carrier? There's sometimes a delay in other carriers receiving the port information, causing text not to come through immediately after your number has been switched. Keep us posted if you continue to run into trouble.
