Can the LG Revere 3 run WhatsApp?

I am looking to switch to Verizon as it has the best reception in my region. I'd like to get a basic phone, but my parents use WhatsApp (they live in a different country, so texting is prohibitively expensive). The LG Revere 3 looks great. Does it run WhatsApp? If not, which phone does?

Only smart phones can. Whatsapp does not make an app for basic phone to use.
