I have been very much looking forward to upgrading my Nokia Lumina 822 to an Icon. I have heard nothing but rave reviews on the Icon. Verizon offered it the last time I looked but I no longer see it on there site?
It has already reached EOL for sales.

Only by Verizon. You can walk into a Microsoft Store or buy through Amazon. But given Verizon's lies around this and other Windows Phone devices I don't know why anyone would buy one.
I'm about to take 4 lines and start shopping for a new carrier.
You can still get it in some stores. Great phone, even without Cyan at the moment. Will be even better when Cyan and Denim hit it. Far and away the best phone Verizon offered so far.
