Does the old Samsung Omnia require Data??

I need a replacement phone to the Kin...something w/ wifi would be great bu they are non-existant nowadays w/out a data plan!!?!?! arggghh

I saw the Samsung Omina has Wifi...does it need data still, I know it USED to but that was 3 years ago?? Verizon will ALWAYS tell you one might (they told me the kin did but it doesnt) so Im curious from anyone that owns / owned one still?

Fpd1997, I had the original Omnia when it was released and I loved it! Since the Omnia is a smartphone and was released after Nov 2008, it does require a data plan. Check out other basic phones or smartphones released prior to that date if you don't want a data plan.
