I was informed 7/31/11 by a Verizon Store Manager and staff member that:
"FCC Regulations allow NO more than 30 seconds of ring time".
Anyone else run into this problem?
Before making a purchase, I did my research. My previous LG Verizon phone lasted 10 years! I requested and discussed longer ring time, because I suffered missed calls. Several staff members (including two managers), told me standard ring time was 45 seconds, but assured me that I could have it increased and would make note of it in my account. So, I signed a 2-year contract the end of May 2011.
I now receive only 20 seconds of ring time! My efforts to resolve my complaint have been unsuccessful. Moreover, I am handicapped and disabled.
Unfortunately, this does not matter to Verizon and they say, "It's NOT us... it's the government who is making the change in airtime". I feel that Verizon lied by omission and do NOT protect the rights of customers with extenuating circumstances.
New buyers beware.
