Faulty Headphone Jack

Has anyone experienced an issue where the phone does not detect when you plug in headphones or an audio cable?  I plug my headphones in, but the music still plays through the phone speakers.  I have tried numerous cables as well as a soft restart but hasn't fixed the problem yet.

I can't say I've come across this trouble on a Lumia 928, olsen091. But no worries! I have a few things we can try. If you look in the headset jack, do you see any debris or corrosion? I've had other phones in my pocket and pocket lint gathering in the jack can cause it to not recognize the headphones properly. Do you remember downloading anything new right before this started? Has there been any damage to the phone?
