HP, FCC and Bluetooth sites show a CDMA HP Elite X3 is headed to Verizon. But when?

Per the following thread on WindowsCentral, it can be all but confirmed a CDMA model of the HP Elite X3 is on it's way to Verizon:

https://forums.windowscentral.com/upcoming-rumored-windows-phones/459914-vzw-sku-elite-x3-wifi-certi...

The recent FCC document is here:

https://fccid.io/document.php?id=3400227

Via this link, you can see it has a recent bluetooth certification now too:

The Official Bluetooth SIG Member Website

If that wasn't enough, HP has recently updated it's Spec Sheet on page 11 to show specs for a Verizon (US Only) CDMA version:http://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=c05193008&doctype=quickspecs&doclang=EN_US&sea...

In addition, in the first link, the poster confirmed with HP via chat it will be coming to Verizon, but only Verizon would be selling it. Any info on when this will be released by Verizon?

Any and all info is truly appreciated.

There won't be any official information about a phone announcement until there is an official press release on the Verizon News site. Verizon News Center | About Verizon

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Ann154 is correct, any available news normally follows a press release. The link provided is accurate as well, I advise following it to ensure you have accurate info on the device(s).

AWESOME!  Verizon, Please, pretty please, with sugar on it, bring the Elite X3 to Verizon!  Right now there are no supported phones that can run current Windows 10 Mobile builds.

The Lumia Icon runs Windows 10. I don't know if it is the most current build though.

I think that the Lumia 735 can also run some version of W10M.

I have a Lumia 735.  It runs Windows Mobile 10, but it is not supported for the Creators Update, which is the Windows 10 update that came out in May of this year.  It runs fine on the Anniversary Update, but it's falling behind as Microsoft continues to develop Windows 10.

The Icon originally wasn't even supported for Windows 10.  I think Microsoft allowed it to be updated to WM10, but it also is not supported for the Creators Update.

You can update either phone if you go to one of the insider builds.  However, Microsoft is not supporting them as insider phones because they are both too old (I guess that's the reason).  Anecdotal reports indicate they run fine on insider update builds, but I am reluctant to try that with a daily driver.

So the net result is, there are currently no Windows Phones on Verizon that are supported for Microsoft's current production version of Windows Mobile 10.

The Elite X3 can run the latest versions of WM10 as of right now.  However, it also may fall behind as Microsoft moves to "Windows on ARM," which I think will require the ARM 835 chip--the Elite X3 only has the 820.  As I understand it, that may happen next year.  Maybe Microsoft will come out with a new handset to coincide with Verizon's updating of the CDMA network.

The CDMA network will be sunset in the coming years. Microsoft could release a LTE only device similar to the LTE basic phone that was recently released.

With Microsoft focused on WoA, I'm not surprised that work on WM10 has slowed. Despite that, I think that WM10 won't go away for the near term.

I don't expect the phone to sell like hotcakes, but, if priced well and operates without major glitches, it could prove a welcome addition to the VZW catalog.

I have the Creators Update on my Icon via the Insiders Program and it's working perfectly fine.  Though the release won't be officially rolled out to it.

I'll probably wait to see what the reviews will be like for the HP before I jump ship to AT&T for the 950XL.  My Icon is getting a little long in the tooth along with my wife's 822

Really wish MS would have one the same for the 950s an enabled CDMA Smiley Sad

Insider preview fast ring will get you to 15063.2, and once you get that, you can come off insider preview and just do regular updates, and get to the current creator's update 15063.728. Runs great on Icon and 735, and allows your store apps to update to (mostly) the latest versions.

Icon runs the very latest build of W10M. Been using the Icon for years now and I could not be happier, though if the X3 comes to Verizon, I will probably be the very first to get that beast.

It will be good news indeed if this comes to pass.

I'm rockin my Lumia 735 with Windows 10 Mobile, which is still the best phone I've had so far. But would like to upgrade to a stronger device.  I'll preorder one as soon as they announce for sure.

Depending upon early reviews and if Microsoft tips it's hand concerning any new mobile devices in the works, I'll test drive the X3 at the local Microsoft Store (assuming that the phone is stocked). I'm not too fond of VZW sales reps pushing iPhones when they see me looking at the Lumia 735.

Just did some checking on the X3. Looks like the Verizon Wireless version will be landing in October.

HP has been quoted as saying that the X3 will be produced up until 2019. Also seeing where HP and others are going to produce Andromeda mobile devices. Now the question is, will Microsoft and the other third-party vendors release hardware for Verizon Wireless, or, will we be back to square one with everything going to at&t, T-Mobile...etc?

I'm glad to hear about the Elite X3 coming to Verizon.  I saw something on MS Poweruser about it the other day also.  Since my contract will be up soon, I'll probably get an X3 if they are available.  Hopefully that will tide me over until the new generation of Windows on ARM devices arrive.

I'm sorry to say it wont happen.  windows mobile is done. it is no longer a focus for Microsoft or other developers.  current windows phones will receive patch updates, but no new features will be added.  I want a new windows phone as much as everyone else who likes windows.  but there isn't going to be any new phones for a while at least.

While Windows 10 Mobile is now closed off to new hardware and development, Microsoft and HP are committed to it until 2019.

The headlines as of late screamed that Windows 10 Mobile was ending. What the headlines omitted was the part about 2019.

In the meantime, Microsoft and OEMs are working on Andromeda, which is thought to be the next evolutionary step for the Windows platform. While details are minimal, one thing I did catch is that no current Windows Mobile device will be able to run Andromeda. The new OS will require new hardware...at least from a mobile perspective.

Nothing new as far as HW goes is true.  New to VZW (Elite X3) yes...

Interesting... VZW version listed as supported for Fall Creators Update.  The only problem is, by now we know Windows Mobile is sunsetted with no chance of upgrade to "Andromeda / Core"
