HTC 8X and factory reset

Hello all,

I feel like i have exhausted all f my options with this phone.I have one that my 6 year old somehow changed the password on her older brothers 8x and now its stuck at the lock screen with a ridiciulous amount of  minutes before retry. I have tried all of the button combinations with no luck, yes i tried just plugging in the cable as well. I can get to the exclamation screenbut when i tap vol up vol down, power it reboots so i never get to the fourth button sequence. Any last ditch info that i am missing??
