Here are the 950 / 950 XL Networks

Verizon doesn't have a "Windows phobia." It's all about the numbers. WP has such a small market share that it's hard to get a cdma version of a WP device without making a large commitment to buy X number of devices. It's just not worth it. If Microsoft was serious about mobile they would offer a cdma version without a commitment from Verizon. Why doesn't Microsoft do this? They're bigger than Verizon. And a cdma version could be picked up by Sprint too. They don't because the numbers don't support it. GSM is the world standard so AT&T and T-Mobile can get the same phone that's used by the European carriers. Microsoft should just step up and make a version of the Lumia 950 that covers ALL frequencies, like Apple does with the iPhone. Then everybody could carry it. Step up, Microsoft!

I vote with my dollars, which my pittance would not equate to the downfall of Verizon. Meanwhile when there is a good product, I'll certainly advocate it.

That's what people should do in a free market. Vote with their money. None of this loyalty talk. Loyalty is a marketing tool and often makes companies complacent because they know they got you.

I wouldn't call it "phobia" as much as "hatred."  If VZW was phone agnostic and was only interested in selling service, they wouldn't go out of their way to talk people out of Windows devices - especially in favor of Androids.  I've personally seen it many times in many VZW stores all around the USA as I take friends and family (and even some customers) into the stores to help them decide which device is best for them.  Often I've even been told by VZW reps that there is no such thing as Windows based phones.  And sadly, many people have shared the same experiences on this and other forums.

I think that if VZW treated Microsoft equally (no better, no worse) and let the devices speak for themselves, then Windows based device usage would be a lot higher.  In a way, it reminds me of how NBC treated the original Star Trek... they didn't like it so they tried to kill it and when the fans got it renewed for the 3rd season, NBC moved the show to a time slot where the demographic was busy and didn't watch it...  and the rest is history.  Of course, VZW doesn't own Windows and the Lumia devices are no Star Trek, but the numbers would be much better if VZW didn't actually dissuade customers from buying the devices.

And I myself have been guilty of that exact thing.  I should have gone over to AT&T when they got the Lumia 1520 and VZW was doing it's anti-Microsoft thing.  I just expected VZW to actually be phone agnostic, but they've gotten worse about how they push Androids.  I wonder if they hope to get bought out by Google....

I agree.  I will probably be leaving at some point but it won't be immediately since I have a contract. 

Microsoft has stated that it will be initially going after corporate accounts where they can provide server/network and phone packages.  I suppose it will get interesting if a Fortune 500 company that currently has Verizon service decides they like the 950 or 950 XL.

I have failed to keep interest in all the shortcomings of the Android operating system.  I also find it ridiculous on the comments people make about the size of the Windows app store.  Any Windows 10 compatible app runs on the Windows Phone.  You don't need to go to a Windows app store to get it.  Almost every app I see in the Google Play store has SPAM in it.  I use my phone mostly for business purposes mostly so I don't need most of the garbage on Google Play.  Most of them are bad except for the ones that are already offered on all platforms (including windows).  When I upgraded to lollipop I noticed that reviews for huge numbers of apps went from 5 stars to 1 star (but that still counts as an app right?)

I have been a Verizon customer for a decade and have always recommended their service/network over competitors. However if I cannot get my Windows 10 based phone connected to their network I'll be leaving to AT&T as well. My family plan has 4 smart phones the last of which is out of contract in December.

I have done my best to stay with Verizon over the past 3 years with Windows phone 7 and windows phone 8/8.1 but I can only put up with so much of this nonsense... Some of us are entrenched in the Microsoft ecosystem for work and this compatibility issue needs to be resolved.

If I could just buy the Lumia 950 outright and connect to the VZ network that's perfect but it seems Microsoft and Verizon can't get along?

Seems like MS is sabotaging themselves. The CEO of T-Mobile flat out said MS didn't even bother to offer it to them. Sorry going to believe T-Mobile on this one simply because the CEO Flat out said something instead of a public relations guy. He is willing to put his name in the hat.
