I do not need the second phone or the added expense; would like to alter my plan accordingly but see nothing in questions or FAQ's covering suspending an account permanently due to a death! My alternative will be to cancel and find another carrier!

I'm sorry to hear of your wife's passing.
You need to CANCEL her line, not "suspend permanently". If you have a death certificate they may also waive any early termination fees. Again, call customer service or go into a corporate store, and cancel her line of service. You can't do this online.

You need to go to a store with the death certificate. They will waive any ETF
