How can I transfer my Backup Assistant Plus contacts to Hotmail (Live.com)?

When I edit contacts in my WP8 928 Lumia, the edits are not reflected in the name.  When I click to edit again, I see the changes I made, but they do not show up in the contact list.  For example, I have a contact name Jell c, which I want to change to Jeff cellphone, but I can't so I want to move all of my contacts to live.com and disable backup assistant altogether.

Export the contacts from Backup Assistant as a CSV file.  Import into your live.com account.
