I would like to cancel the Backup Assistant on my new LG Cosmos 3 that I recently got. But I can't find anyway to cancel or delete it, and trying to find an email address to send a question to Verizon is impossible to find. Can anyone help me?

This same issue was driving me crazy and I finally found a solution that worked for me here:
https://community.verizonwireless.com/thread/665977
1. Go to Apps and start Backup Assistant
2. Select "Options"
3. Select "About"
4. Enter *73738# (note: it won't appear anywhere on the phone's screen when you type it)
5. Exit Backup Assistant

Hello and happy Tuesday grdnrgal.
Excellent choice on a phone my friend. I just bought my mom a Cosmos 3 and she loves it. Of course she texts all the time so the keyboard is a huge selling point. May I ask what's the reason for canceling the Backup Assistant app? This is a great way to archive your contacts just in case you may experience some equipment issues. If you are using a 3rd party app to save your contacts then you can cancel Backup Assistant by highlighting the app, select options, then select cancel subscription. Once you have done so then the app will no longe backup your contacts. If you change your mind then you can always reactivate the app for future use.
Thank you...

Thanks for your response. When I go to the App and choose Options, I can
choose from Set Scheudle, View Mobile #, Change PIN, Help and About. I've
tried each one, and none of these permit me to cancel subscription, delete
or anything like that.
I'm wanting to cancel because it back-ups daily and I only need it to back
up maybe once a month. I don't use my phone that much, and I don't like
that it is backing up that often. Plus, I'm not sure I like the idea of my
information being kept someplace else. I'm a bit reluctant to have my
contacts kept somewhere that I do not have control of them.

I'm afraid the visuals are not correct for my Cosmos 3. They say to use "Settings" on the "Apps" screen, but there is no such option on my Apps screen. The "Options" menu does not include "Setting" either.

I'm sorry you were unable to locate the steps to remove backup assistance on your phone ZenRonin. When you access the Backup Assistance application, you can click the menu buttom for settings. This is where you will have the option to disable the application. Keep us posted.

I'm afraid that is not correct. I work in the software industry, so let
me file a proper bug report here:
Steps to Reproduce:
1. From main menu, select: "Apps."
2. After "Apps" menu opens, highlight: "Backup Assistant."
3. Press: "Options."
Expected Result: "Cancel" or "Delete" is among the options.
Actual Result: Only these options appear:
Tell a Friend
Reorder
Add to Folder
Sort by
Properties
Help
Notes:
Getting to the "Apps" page by another means makes no difference in
the options shown. For example, "Menu> Media Center> Apps" takes me
to the same page with the same options.
None of the options under "Settings" ("Menu> Settings") refer to apps.
Backup Assistant was not on my phone originally. I saw on the site
that preloaded apps cannot be deleted. But this was not preloaded--I
downloaded it to transfer my contacts.
Thank you.

Nice job, ZenRonin; that's my situation exactly. I switched phones with a family member and want to remove BA from the phone that once was mine so it doesn't overwrite her contacts. (Actually, associating BA with the line rather than the account would solve this problem nicely--but that's just crazy talk.) Fortunately, it requires a PIN to do the backup, so it's safe, just annoying. I think.

And by the way, the visuals are not only not correct, but some are missing.

I'm with all of the above - I want to cancel backup assistant but cannot find how to do it. I also read where it cannot be canceled if it was on the phne to begin with, but I charge my phone then the backup assistant comes on and takes me down to one or two bars. My husband and I only call or send texts - no internet. And I repeatedly keep having to charge my phone to keep 4 bars. HELP! I love Verizon but this is ridiculous!

Wow, that was awesome! I saw that somewhere else and just stopped because it didn't appear on the screen. Since you told me that I actually did it anyway and it worked!!!
Thanks!
