How do I permanently set a text entry mode for the Samsung Intensity II?

The Samsung Intensity defaults back to 'abc' entry mode for each new text message.  I would like to set the entry mode to 'T9'.

Hello crhall41,

I know it must be frustrating having to select the T9Word entry mode every time you create a text message. You can follow these steps to set the T9Word as your default text entry mode. Please note this must be done using the QWERTY keyboard and command keys.

• From the Home Screen, press the Center Select Key to select Menu and then Messaging.
• Press the left soft key which is Settings.
• Select Entry Mode and choose T9Word.
