How do I setup the mobile internet/data on a Samsung Omnia?

Hello, within the past week I received a Samsung Omnia as a birthday present. This phone runs Windows Mobile 6.1. No matter how hard I look, I cannot find out how to set up the data. It will not let me go to any websites (mobile or otherwise) and I cannot download picture messages. Does anyone know anything or can anyone help me?

Do you have a data plan in your contract with VZW?  In order to access the internet you must have a data plan otherwise your SOL.

Have you tried dialing *228 and selecting option 1?

Hello rockstarman700,

Thanks for your reply primortal. Rockstarman700 I wanted to check some settings in the Samsung Omnia to make sure your data connection is working. Please try the steps below:

1. From the Today screen, tap Start > Settings.

2. From the Connections tab, tap Wireless Manager.

3. Tap Menu > Make sure Disconnect Cellular Data has not been selected.

4. Tap Done
