Hi Alishay,

Duplicate messages can be troublesome! Lets get this fixed. When did the issue start? Is the issue with all messages or a particular contact? Are you using the messaging application that came installed on the device or have you downloaded a 3rd party messaging application?

Thanks,

I read recently that using another texting app temporarily can help straighten things out, then returning to stock app.  I also read that it might be a tower issue in a specific geographical area.

When did the issue start? Approximately 2-3 months ago? Maybe less maybe more.

Is the issue with all messages or a particular

contact? -Very random. Sporadic. No consistency re who the sender is. In other words a particular senders message may be duplicated for one message and not another.

Are you using the messaging application that came installed on

the device or have you downloaded a 3rd party messaging application? The one with the phone. Have not added a message app.

85MeBee, duplicate texts have to be a nuisance. Lets stop this from happening to you. How long has this been happening? Have you recently done a software update?

Relax. The "follow/mark correct" is a standard signature on all Verizon support people's accounts. Diagnosing issues is never easy and the more information a user can provide the better the chance of resolving issues.

I would advise folks experiencing double messaging to check (and then re-check) that they don't have a second messaging app activated. Verizon has their own proprietary messaging app for some platforms, and a recent software update could have activated it. I recommend uninstalling or disabling all proprietary Verizon apps (especially their backup app) and using the apps that are standard to the platform.
