How to turn I off ALL TEXT messages for a blind 90 year old w/Gusto Prepaid. She stays up and worries all night about the "status messages" verizon sends her that I look at the next day?

Call customer service at 1-800-922-0204 and block all texting to and from that line.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Yes call and just have text messages blocked by Verizon. We did that years ago when we had non texting phones and no texting plan. Got spam one day out of the blue so just had them block text messaging. Mary

You can also make this change online assuming you have MyVerizon setup. On the left, click Change Features, then add the Block Text feature to her line.

You will have to call the prepaid customer service number and ask those reps if blocking all text messages is an option.

mcell, no need to ask again. Text messaging blocks can be added to her account online at My Verizon. Have you registered her mobile number online yet? http://bit.ly/xB4iTc

You can block all texts using MyVerizon online, but even with that block applied, you will still get texts from Verizon if your balance is low or your prepaid renewal date is near. There is a "phone control" option under My Profile, that controls the level of Verizon texts you want to receive, that you can set to Low, Medium or High. "None" is not an option.
Have you tried turning off text alerts on the phone? (if that is how she knows the texts are coming in.)

Thanks we are calling them again and specifying ALL text messages including Verizons!
