I had to perform a master reset on my HTC one, before doing so the phone was backed up using the backup assistant app. Now there is no restore button I can find to get my contacts back. How do I restore my contacts?

I had to perform a Master Reset on my HTC One while trying to work through an issue. This was done with a Verizon rep on the phone and we performed a backup using backup assistant. Now I am not able to restore my contacts because I do not have a "restore" soft button when I open the backup assistant app. How do I restore my contacts?

No worries mtb73, we know how important it is to have your contacts back on your phone. You will need to restore contacts through backup assistance. Here is a link for the app http://www.verizonwireless.com/wcms/consumer/products/backup-assistantplus.html . Here is a link for steps to restore contacts via Backup assistance http://vz.to/1EdeUaS .  Please let me know if this helps.

When I enter backup assistant from my WINDOWS phone it does not give me the screens you are showing the only options I have at the bottom of the screen are “sync now” and “settings”. When I tap the settings key it only gives me the option to sync contacts every night and nothing else. This is very frustrating since I have been on the phone with several Verizon reps and it was a level 2 tech that had me do the master reset and didn’t know how to reload my contacts.

Have you updated the dreaded Backup Assistant program?  I think you need to do this first before you can restore.

If you are using a Microsoft Account for HTC restore your stuff and get off the Backup Assistant and use Windows Phone's native backup, Learn about Windows Phone backup | Windows Phone How-to (United States) and you'll never have to go through this again

My advice is always to avoid the Verizon Backup Assistant. Don't even set it up. I much prefer a free Hotmail/Outlook/Live email account for syncing contacts/calendar, and the free OneDrive account that comes with the account for pics/videos.

Meanwhile, working with Verizon tech support is your best bet for getting your contacts back now.

mtb73,

Thanks for clarifying what you are seeing on your device. Apologies that we sent instructions for the incorrect system. Click for more info specific to your device http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-116002/ . Just a note, there is no dedicated Restore option, you will want to select the Sync Now option as that will sycronize what is on Backup Assistant to your phone.
