I hate Windows phone because ...

I never set a voicemail password, my voicemail is full, but Windows Phone asks for my password. I'm locked out and support is largely non-existent.

I hate this piece of crap and wish that my boss got me an iPhone instead.

Does anyone know how I can retrieve my voicemail?

You don't like Windows Phone because you don't know the password to your Verizon voicemail? You'd have the same problem with iPhone or Android. Call Verizon and ask how to retrieve your Voicemail.

fdrouillard,

We don't want you to hate your phone! Let's get you some voicemail assistance. We know how important it is to be able to get messages. The voicemial for this phone is a two step process if you're a new user on the line. If you have never set up the voicemail, you'd first do the regular voicemail setup by dialing *86 and then Send from your phone. This will walk you through a quick setup tutorial/wizard where you can leave your greeting and set your password. After that, or if you had an existing recording and password, you can set up your device's visual voicemail if your employer opted to use it. This can be done by following these steps: http://vz.to/1GnZwfp For security reasons, there is a limited amount of time available to set up a mailbox on a new line, so if you no longer get the tutorial when you dial *86 and Send, you'll need to have the telecom manager at your company reset your voicemail box. I hope this helps!

I never did a voicemail setup, and it is still asking me for a password. Furthermore, our company does not have a telecom manager. I need to fix this on my own.

One thing so infuriating about this device is that those writhing the help assume that you know all the geek terms and already know it features in order to use the available help. Most of the time the folks at the Verizon store can't help with Windows phone issues. It's also extremely annoying that this phone does so much on its own without any input from me, which appears to be the case with this voicemail problem. And sending every photo I take to the Cloud which wears out the battery.

So I'm still stuck. My voicemail is completely full with two-years worth of the voicemail messages, which as I said I never set up. This is a nightmare device.

That said, I appreciate your attempts to help.

Why not set up voicemail now and see if that grants you access?

RE: I hate windows phone. I first thought that I had bought an awesome phone.. A phone to rival iPhone but I was sadly mistaken. This is my third windows Lumia  822  phone and this phone is a poorly constructed piece of ****!!!!! Every single time I am forced to replace this phone  because the charger port has died or malfunctioned forcing me to replace the phone. Now I am unclear and unsure who is  running the racket Verizon or Assurion but one thing is for certain  that they have charged me 150 dollars x3 so you do the math.  Nobody wants to keep paying a deductible for a phone that's guaranteed to break in a matter of months. It's ludicrous for assurion and Verizon to even Want a person to do this, but yet his is how big businesses stay wealthy. Their idea of customer service leaves something to be desired. I am all over the Internet trying to find a way to voice my abject displeasure about this product.
