I have a Samsung Reality phone. About 2 weeks ago I started getting a Cannot Connect message when trying to connect to Facebook. General browser connects fine. I've noticed the web page changes from http to https and that's when it stops connecting. How do I fix this? Thanks!

I found out that the problem is the browser on the Reality is now outdated and is no longer supported because the phone is no longer available. Facebook's updates and whatnot are no longer capatible with the POLARIS Browser. This really sucks because I love this dumb phone.

toweegail,
Let's look further into this in effort to resolve this! Have you tried removing and inserting the battery and testing? Please share. Thank you.

I have the same issue - have tired everything noted with no help. I may be forced to drop verizon and get a service that works.

I am encountering the same problem. I think it is a ploy against all of Verizon's customers who still have dumb phones to force us to smart phones . I was on the phone with Verizon customer service and tech support for over an hour last week and nothing helped. Phone restore, phone reset, take the batter out, turn the phone off.....nothing. Tech support was able to access Facebook on a different basic phone and my husband can access it on his Alias basic phone. Something is screwed up with the Reality and accessing FB. I can get to Yahoo just fine.

Really you actually think that? Anyway to answer the OPs question https is secure version of http. It could be your basic phone can't connect using that. No one is trying to force anything on you. In a few years or so you'll be using one without Verizon forcing anything.

Check out the LG Extravert 2 - it's pretty similar to the Reality.
