I've lost ability to use Integrated Messaging Service, on web and via Android tablet.

I have lost the ability to use the Integrated Messaging Service, both on the web (via browser) and using my Android tablet.

This problem started immediately after I activating a new phone (which actually is an old phone that is very same model--Samsung Smooth--as the one it replaced).

I have prepaid service (ALLSETโ„ข PLAN$35 BASIC 500 MIN, UNL TXT, 500MB).

When I try reconnecting my tablet to the account I enter the number and get the following error message: "Sorry, Integrated Messaging Service is available only to consumer mobile numbers."

When I try to use the IMS on the web (i.e., when I click the "Get Started" button on the My Messaging Page) nothing happens.

What must I do to reestablish the ability to use Integrated Messaging Service on the web (via my computer) and via my tablet??

I too have lost the ability to use the Integrated Messaging Service when my service lapsed for about 6 hours while I updated my card for autopay. been on the phone for hours with no luck . My message I receive says 'Sorry, integrated messaging service is currently not available for your type of business account. also noticed that cloud says account suspended when I click the icon on my phone, vz protect same thing. if that's normal for prepaid I don't know why I have those apps preinstalled on my phone.

I should add that ive been using it with my laptop and phone all summer, until 11-25-14

What I learned after spending an hour on the customer service line--and

speaking with the initial rep, a tech support specialist, and a tech

support supervisor--is the integrated messaging service is no longer

available as part of the basic prepaid service I've had.

But in my case I did not let my plan lapse. Rather, I switched one old

clamshell phone on the account with another one of the identical model.

They evidently considered my access to IMS 'grandfathered.' Verizon

apparently limits how long they must support grandfathered accounts by

programing their computers to drop the IMS service should anything about

the grandfathered accounts change.

I was told that I could regain access to IMS by getting a smart phone and

buying smartphone prepaid service. Instead I am going to start doing most

of my texting via Google. Heck, I called customer service using a google

line and my computer to drive home the point that they will go way of

dinosaurs if they don't do a better job supporting customers.

I still have had no luck getting the integrated service back, I do have a smartphone, its a galaxy s4 so I don't think that upgrading will help you.

Which plan do you have? How long has it been in effect? Is the smartphone

one that came bundled with your service?

Im on the $45 prepaid plan, started it around August of this year. I bought the phone from Verizon online, along with the first month of service. set it up on auto pay the second month. updated the msg app from Verizon due to weak signal at the house so it would text over wifi., and it worked like it was supposed to until recently. all I can find out is that its not offered with my type of plan right now..

Yikes. Sounds like the product/service they were trying to sell me so I

can reestablish IMS. Guess I'm not going to go that route.

Same here. I was on the ALL SET Pre-Paid plan, they took away integrated messaging, still isnt back for prepaid years later. I wish they could add it back for us, I really liked it.
