Incorrect software

My son got his LG VX5600 pay as you go phone wet and now we keep getting Incorrect software powering off on the screen.Any ideas on this problem?

When the cellphone gets wet, there are certain "do"-s and "don't"-s.

Even if this phone was turned on without following these steps, if you hurry up and follow them  then maybe there's a chance of restoring the phone to proper working condition.

Thank You I will try it. I have already done the rice trick and it did absorb most of the water but it still gives me the incorrect software message.
