Is Verizon going to get a flaship Windows phone in 2015-2016 or not?

Real simple yes or no question for the Verizon reps that monitor this board.

Is Verizon going to get a flagship Windows 10 phone either this year or in 2016?  Please give a straight answer, none of the corporate-scripted canned spam as shown below that seem to get posted whenever someone asks a specific question:

"Verizon Wireless Customer Support wrote:

We never want you to consider a move from our wireless family. We have great devices available, see all options online at vzw.com/Smartphones

What specific features attract you on that particular phone? We may have phones with the same features. Keep in mind that a phone is only as good as the network behind it."

Sorry, that IS NOT an answer to a question, that is a sales pitch that completely side-stepped the question.

There are people who DON"T want an Apple, DON'T want an Android, no matter what "specific features" a Apple/Android phone may or may not have.

There are people, especially business people, that want a flagship Windows 10 phone to integrate with the rest of their corporate ecosystem. What you have for Windows phones are fair to middle range phones at best, that are crippled by sub-par processors/RAM/displays and storage.

If VZW isn't going to bring any flagship Windows 10 phones to the market, just say so.  Trying to push people to the whole Apple/Android duopoly just shows that VZW doesn't care what the customer wants/thinks as long as they make a sale.

A happy customer that comes back for more business and brings along other potential customers is a lot more valuable that an upset customer that bad-mouths the company due to it's business practices.

That is basic business 101, something VZW seems to have forgotten.

Is Microsoft going to make a CDMA version of their flagship phones? That's the question to ask.

I don't care if it's Microsoft, LG, HTC, even Motorola.  Manufacturers can only do so much with a given hardware set.

I am asking if VZW is going to get a flagship Windows 10 phone, brand is secondary.

Its very doubtful there will be a new wp on Verizon anytime soon. Especially an unlocked wp on Verizon. Every wp on Verizon in the past has been a branded phone.  which Microsoft is trying to move away from I believe.

The Surface Phone is due in early/mid-2016. A lot of folks are saying the 950 is a placeholder for WP until Microsoft gets Windows 10 Mobile tuned up for the debut of their own phone. The Lumia 950 retains the name and overall design from Nokia even though Microsoft now owns the Nokia D&S division. If Verizon is going to get a Windows phone it will be the Surface Phone. I'm sure Verizon would carry the Lumia 950 too but MICROSOFT WON'T MAKE A CDMA VERSION. Verizon already sells the Lumia 735 right now so there is no reason why they wouldn't carry the 950 if was compatible. C'mon Microsoft!! Get it together!!

I seriously doubt that VZW will actually answer your question. The only way we know when a phone will come to VZW is when they make the announcement that it's already here.

But considering VZW's history with Windows phones, I don't see them getting any flagship level Windows phones in the near future, regardless of OEM.

While I really don't like that MSFT didn't include the CDMA bands in the 950/XL products, I can't 100% blame them either - especially considering how VZW has repeatedly tried talking people out of buying the Windows phones.  (Many people have complained about VZW's blatant animosity against MSFT.)

As for a possible Surface Phone, I agree that it's in the works, but I expect that it'll be closer to a year before it's available.

I gave up waiting. I replaced my HTC 8x with MSFT Lumia 735 when it was on a 100.00 discount.

Having verified that I can go back to 8.1 using the Windows Device Recovery Tool, I am in the process of upgrading it to Win 10 as a Windows Insider Slow Ring.

I'm currently using an LG Lancet as an upgrade from my HTC Trophy. After I upgraded my laptop to 10 from 8.1, I started using calendar, note, and OneDrive syncs for my business specifically to get away from issues arising from details in one place that I couldn't get to from another. It's a learning curve, but it's been worth it.

I've seen old photos from last Spring showing an LG prototype w/ WIN 10, but they might have only been a photo of what might have been in the works at the time. I was hoping for VZW to offer the 950XL because of the larger screen, However, I'm prepared to look at any VZW offering that gives me WIN 10 on a larger screen especially with Continuum capability - that's as in ANY offering.

Unfortunately, my experience at the local VZW stores only reinforces my sense that the corporate culture they swim in isn't Windows friendly. I hope VZW comes up with a timely WIN 10 offering, but I'm not holding my breath; I'd happily upgrade from my Lancet to a new LG or HTC offering if that was available from VZW, but VZW will never tell because, " ... my experience at the local VZW stores only reinforces my sense that the corporate culture they swim in isn't Windows friendly ..."

Verizon has NEVER said when and if they'll carry any device until there is a press conference or press release. That has never changed. Asking will get you nothing.
