I care, but then again I don't.  If I want either then my service provider will be ATT.  If I want the XL then I will buy it from Microsoft.  I have the Icon with Windows 10 mobile on it and am happy....for now.

I am waiting for the surface phone, but I did buy the unlocked 950 which I use as on my personal line.

As the weeks go by, please post your observations about how the various aspects of the 950 hold up to daily use. It will be interesting to see what is in store for future WPs.

I went back to the Microsoft Store and spent a little time with the 950. Seems like a nice phone. Action was smooth. As an Android user for years, the home screen looks quite busy compared to the more orderly look of the home screen of my Samsung Galaxy S4 and on iPhones.

I wanted to try out the 950XL, but there wasn't one out on the floor to look at.

Everybody desperate for a Lumia 950 should take a gander at the forums on Windows Central. Folks are returning their 950's because of issues. Battery life is at the top of the list. Under standby its fine, but with regular use they report the battery drops by 20% per hour or more.

Windows Central Forums

Owners are howling mad that a "flagship" phone has so many issues. Apologists are saying "it's a work in progress" or "just turn off features." Really? Dumb down your smartphone to get through a day?? That's no solution. Folks don't buy a premium smartphone for what it might become one day when all the kinks are ironed out. They buy it to use it TODAY. And as the Lumia 950 looks right now, it's far from ready for prime time.

Imagine all the support calls and posts here about users' outrage that xx or yy isn't working! Waiting for the Surface Phone is the smart play.

I don't have that kind of trouble, however I am not a power user.  People complain about 4-7 hours from 100-5%, but for me most devices are 14 hours minimum.

I make 30-60 minutes of calls each day, send/receive 50+ emails and messages, and look at Flipboard a lot. And that's an average day. If we have a board meeting my phone blows up with messages and emails all day long. Stopping to plug in is often simply not an option for me. That makes the Lumia 950 a non-starter in my book even if Microsoft made a CDMA version. Meh - they can keep this one. I'm holding out for the Surface Phone.

I made roughly 2000 minutes, 1500-2000 texts, and get about 200-300 emails a month.  I don't do much social media, and I am not a heavy gamer(I do play some games, but not the intensive ones.  WordFued is like my favorite for example).  So my usage is always pretty consistent, and it always last me from wake up unplug to going to bed plugin.
