KYOCERA DURAXV E4819 DOES NOT RECEIVE TEXT

Just bought this phone for my mother who doesn't understand a smart phone, tried to receive a text on this phone and the text will not come thru, the phone can send text all day long if needed, she relies on text from her doctor and pharmacy.

It sounds as if either something is not set correct on the phone, or the phone is not provisioned properly. You can try to do a factory or master reset of the device. Instructions do perform this can be found on the following link. https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-214761/

Verizon will be retiring their 3G (CDMA) network soon, so newer devices, like the Kyocera DuraXV Extreme (E4810), do not include CDMA support.  If a user takes a SIM card from their older phone which supported CDMA and puts it into their newer CDMA-Less phone, they can experience the problem of not receiving text messages.  From your description, the problem you are experiencing might be this same problem.  If so, it can be fixed by calling Verizon Customer Support and asking them to add the CDMA-Less features to your line.  This tells their network to treat your new phone as a CDMA-Less phone.
