Kyocera DuraXV+: unable to access AOL email

Brand new Kyocera DuraXV+: unable to access AOL email: I get the following edit: "Sorry! It looks like you're using an unsupported browser...."

I have called Verizon tech support twice and no one seems to know how to fix.  One Verizon rep dumped me on the AOL support line.  Since I can access AOL on all my other devices, AOL says its not their problem. One Verizon rep called a Kyocera rep and claims Kyocera has no idea either.  Frustrating as this phone is advertised as AOL email compatible. (Other internet services do work fine ie their ESPN app and Facebook app.  Weather bug does not work)  Any ideas on how to get AOL email to work on this phone?

Being able to access your email is a must tbonetylerc. Let’s get this figured out. How are you adding the email to this device? What is the incoming port/outgoing port information that you are using? Click here for instructions: http://spr.ly/65888NToC. Also are you able to use the mobile web browser to access the email?

I am attempting to access my Email via the email app loaded on the phone when I received it. Menu-Mediacenter-internet-email.  Aol is preloaded.  When I attempt to Log on I receive the following: "Sorry! It looks like you're using an unsupported browser...."  I have made numerous calls to Verizon, who claims its AOL's fault, who claims it Kyocer's fault who them claims its Verizon's issue. Just going in circles with all the various support reps.

tbonetylerc, thanks for sharing those additional details. We certainly want to help get to the bottom of this concern with accessing AOL email right from your phone. We see that the DuraXV+ originally launched in 2015 so it's certainly possible that with recent changes, the applications may no longer be compatible. We still want to do everything we can to help get the answers that you're looking for.

Your software version is definitely up to date which is great news! Let's look over some additional information. Are you able to access the browser directly to check your AOL mail instead of using the AOL application? Has the AOL app ever worked on this phone before?

While I am able to access many websites via the browser, I am unable to load aol. This phone is brand new and I have never been able to access the factory loaded aol app on the phone. (Nor the factory loaded  weatherbug app)

You'd need to use a different phone with a compatible browser for those to work. AOL currently supports more recent Apple, Android, BlackBerry & Windows mobile devices. (Listed below)-

WeatherBug provides similar support, (with the exception of BlackBerry)

I use AOL but with an app on my smart phone.  I find AOL works horrible from a mobile browser using the .com site.  Mobile email of any kind to me works so much better using an email app.  The AOL email app is very nice if you can use that.  Mary

The error occurs from the preloaded aol email application .  I also can not access AOL from a browser.
