I only see my light when charging. The notification light is the "Back" on the front of your phone. Next time you charge your phone look at this button to see if it is surrounded by a red light. I only noticed mine because I was charging my phone in a dark room. The manual gives no description as to where the notification light should be.

FYI, not working on mine either. I just chalked this up to being old phones that are not being supported by LG or Verizon.

rodneythebody,
We definitely want those notifications to work asap! Please go to Settings>Display Settings>Notification Light> and ensure they're on. If they are, please let us know. When did this happen? Also, in Settings go to About Phone and provide us with the software version number.

they are already on... the problem is not with the user settings, but a hardware/software issue with the phone.
please get lg to fix this.

I appreciate your insight, Shastaodd. Have the notification lights ever worked on this device? Is this an intermittent issue?

Hi,
I have the same issue as everyone else - no notification lights go on. I have the same version number as Shasta Todd. My notification lights were all set at the factory to on, but non work. I have never seen it even when charging.
Just did an update, but nothing was available. It's May 30.

i spoke with lg about the location of this "notification light". the notification light is in the upper left corner of the screen while holding the phone in portrait mode (vertical). it is not the backlighting of the bottom buttons.
and no extravert2 phones have working notification lights. this is a problem with this phone and i hope verizon/lg addresses it.

Oh. Okay! Thanks for clarifying where the notification light is. My friend has a different LG phone and the notification light is the "back" button. It would be nice if the manual said this and would explain what the different light colors mean if they ever would start working. Hard to believe that LG didn't know that these lights didn't work when they released these phones. In the description of the phone they promote these smart LEDs. They need to come out with a softare update.

@shastatodd,
I appreciate your keeping us posted! I suggest taking the phone into a VZW store for a hands on evaluation. Visit http://bit.ly/3SdsA to locate the nearest location. They will be more than happy to check the phone and make sure it is functioning properly.

what a silly suggestion johnb... NONE of the extravert 2's have working notification lights. to suggest i be further inconvenienced by a factory defect on ALL these phones is absurd. i suggest you get to work with LG and request they do a global recall or update the software if that will fix it. please don't ask your customers to help you troubleshoot this any further. it is clear the phone is at fault and defective. thank you for your attention to this problem.

All they would do at the store would be to check that you have all the notifications set to on (which they already are). It is a problem with all of these phones. The only people who could get it fixed are LG and Verizon. Only time will tell if they care enough about Basic Phone users to fix the problem.

I emailed LG about the notification lights not working on any of these phones. They obviously did not read my email. Their response was to tell me how to set the notification lights to "ON". I just emailed them again telling them once again that all the notification lights are already set to "ON". I'll let you know what their reply is.

Yes, all the lights are already set to on. The only notification light that works for me is the one for charging. I get a red light when it's charging and a green light when it's done. This shows that my notification light does work but only for charging. I think it must be software related.

My light does not work either. I noticed in the reviews for this phone one person had two extravert2 phones and the notification light did not work on either one. I wonder if the software on the phone is buggy and if they will come out with a fix for it. I do get a green light when the phone is done charging but no light for anything else. Other than the lights the phone works just fine. I really like it.

the memory for message storage somehow got totally corrupted on my extravert 2. now, most messages show no information, or get the text from one of the 20 messages that will not delete... even after doing a full restore... so i am being sent a replacement. i will check back to tell you if the notification light works. my guess is nope.

Yes, please let us know if the notification light works on your new phone. I'm also betting that it doesn't. If it does then it means that some of these phones have a problem. I hope your replacement phone works better.
