I "upgraded" to three of these phones...they are the worse I have ever had...they drop calls...and now you can not delete text messages...my wife and daughters have had nothing but problems...what are my options to replace these with something that works? My family need phones they can rely on..just in case of emergencies....

I am having the same problems here with mine. I have messages that I cannot delete, and right now my screen is saying I have unread text messages. Nothing I do will fix the issue. I've checked for a software update, and there's nothing new for me to update. The memory on the device is not full, either.

This phone is a piece of junk, no doubt about it.

LukeFF I definitely want you to be happy with your device! Have you tried pulling your battery for about 10 seconds and testing again, just to be sure the phone is not frozen? If so, I would recommend a master reset to the the phone, use these steps http://vz.to/1lBTJZa

These phones are getting worse. I was talking to my wife yesterday...her phone dropped the call five times in less than 5 minutes...Verizon needs to do something about these phones. If my family has an emergency and can't reach anyone...who is to blame if something happens?  Terrible phones, and Verizon will not acknowledge there is anything wrong with these, at least give us phone owners another choice, of one that works.

I've also been having problems with the Extravert 2.  I just ran across what appears to be a software update dated 8/20/2014, here:

Well, we went to the Verizon store, no help. My wife and daughters are ready to take these phones and run over them. The person at the store said we were locked into our contract with these phones, but in the same breath said we could go to ebay or Amazon and get phones to replace them...so much for these phones being locked onto my contract. Then he told us we could use "The Edge" to "upgrade" to smartphones, at over $200 more a month. I believe the next step is to involve the Attorney General, and the Better Business Bureau...this is really getting out of hand...so many complaints about this phone, and no one is doing anything.

You are locked in to your contract for 2yrs  unless you pay rhe ETF to get out of the contract.  Buy any Verizon basic phones you want new or used and activate them on your account.  I have swapped new phones for used phones before while in my 2yr contract.  Mary
